Kronberg Academy Master
Kronberg Academy Professional Studies with Nobuko Imai, funded by the Dr. Rolf M. Schwiete foundation
The young Israeli violist Noga Shaham is known for her exceptional warm tone and honest artistic expression which shine through in every musical endeavor, whether performing as a soloist or collaborating with others in chamber music. Currently enrolled at the esteemed Kronberg Academy, Noga is dedicated to expanding and realizing her artistic potential. She recently received the Nobuko Imai Sponsorship Award at the Kronberg Academy Violin and Viola Masterclasses, and the Francois Schapira Viola Prize of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Aviv Competion 2025. Noga’s talent and profound musicianship were further showcased this season in performances at London’s Wigmore Hall, Geneva Victoria Hall, and Berliner Philharmonie.
Noga finds her greatest inspiration in crafting music that embraces human connection. Her aim is to establish a musical environment where unspoken thoughts can be expressed through mutual listening and interaction, allowing for the coexistence of individual musical personalities.
Born in 2001 into a musical family, Noga pursued her path as a violinist under the guidance of her father Hagai Shaham. In 2023 she completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University of The Arts Berlin, with Prof. Nora Chastain.
Noga won the 2nd prize at the Cecil Aronowitz International Viola Competition in 2021. She appeared as a soloist with international orchestras such as the Jerusalem Symphony, Israel Symphony, Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn, Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra.
As a sought-after chamber musician, Noga performed with world renown artists including Christoph Eschenbach, Janine Jansen, Gidon Kremer, Antje Weithaas, Christian Tetzlaff, Gary Hoffman, Raphael Wallfisch, Miklós Perényi, Antonio Lysy, Ettore Causa, the Busch Trio and Jörg Widmann. She performed in prominent festivals such as Utrecht International Kamermuziek Festival, Sion Festival, Verbier Festival, Crans-Montana Classics, Kronberg Academy ‘Chamber Music Connects the World’, Gstaad Menuhin Academy and Ozawa Academy.
She has been a scholarship recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation since 2013 and is a graduate of the David Goldman Chamber Music Program at the Jerusalem Music Centre. Noga is generously supported by Freunde Junger Musiker Berlin since 2025.
Funded by Dr. Rolf M. Schwiete Stiftung, Noga has been studying at Kronberg Academy with Nobuko Imai since October 2023.
