SIR ANDRÁS SCHIFF – ARTIST AND MAN
Pianist Sir András Schiff is not only an exceptionally gifted musician, above all he is an indefatigable servant of music – and has supported Kronberg Academy for the past 20 years. In a concert series dedicated to the man himself, he showcases the comprehensive scope of his artistry: as a soloist, as a chamber musician in a trio with Jörg Widmann and Antoine Tamestit, in a duo with singer Julian Prégardien, as the director of his own Cappella Andrea Barca ensemble and finally as a patron and mentor of young pianists, with whom he shares a stool at the Bösendorfer grand piano to perform duets. Two concerts in which he cedes the stage entirely to other talented greats round off the series.
