Tabea Dupree
Tabea Dupree is a passionate music educator. A music journalist and musicologist by training, she has been music editor at SWR Kultur since 2022. As editor of the SWR Symphony Orchestra, she regularly presents its concert broadcasts on the radio and in the video livestream, invites top-class artists to talks and designs the introductions for the concert audience. She can also be heard on the daily program of SWR Kultur, where she presents and edits various music programs. One of the most recent highlights of her career was her moderation of the world and German premiere of the documentary film “Anne-Sophie Mutter - Vivace” in Berlin and Stuttgart in 2023. In this context, she held panel discussions with star violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, conductor Daniel Barenboim and director Sigrid Faltin.
From 2017 to 2023, Tabea Dupree was a moderator at hr2-kultur and worked for the hr symphony orchestra. During this time, she also developed and hosted the ARD podcast “Stimmenreich”. She also worked as a freelance author for SWR Kultur, WDR3 and Deutschlandfunk Kultur and portrayed artists such as Wolfgang Rihm, John Adams and Sir Antonio Pappano. As presenter of the concert series “Debüt im Deutschlandfunk Kultur”, she regularly appeared on the stage of the Berlin Philharmonie.
Since 2021, she has been the presenter of concert introductions at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. As a concert presenter, she works for music festivals such as the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Heidelberger Frühling, Choriner Musiksommer, ZeitGenuss, WestfalenClassics and Eggenfelden klassisch. Tabea Dupree is particularly interested in introducing children and young people to the world of music. She has conceived and presented children's concerts by the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin. She currently works closely with the music education department of the SWR Symphony Orchestra and coaches school classes as part of the ARD Youth Media Day.
Tabea Dupree has been teaching at Kronberg Academy since 2023, where she passes on her expertise and experience to young aspiring artists.
