Lara Boschkor was born in Tübingen in 1999 and began playing the violin at the age of four. She is currently studying as a junior student at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts in Erik Schumann’s class.

The young violinist has won numerous prizes and awards, including first prize in the Jeunesses International Violin Competition in 2011, second prize in the International Brahms Violin Competition in 2012 and first prize in the Carl Flesch Violin Competition in 2013. In 2015 she was also awarded first prize in the Johansen International String Competition. The gifted young musician is being supported by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and the Bruno Frey Stiftung. In 2017 she won first prize at the TONALi Violin Competition.

Lara Boschkor gave her orchestral debut at the age of eight. Performances at Kölner Philharmonie, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Tonhalle Zürich, Tonhalle Zürich Maag, Laeizhalle Hamburg, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Konzerthaus Berlin, Théâtre Marigny Paris, KKL Luzern, Theatre Odeon Bukarest, Cuvilliés-Theater München, Izumi Hall Osaka, Konzerthaus Berlin, Kurhaus Wiesbaden, Théâtre Marigny Paris, Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan and Alte Oper Frankfurt followed. In 2014 Lara debuted at the Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall in New York and in 2021 at the Wigmore Hall in London. She was a guest at several International Music festivals, among them Rheingau Music Festival, Heidelberger Frühling, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Kronberg Academy Festival and Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival. In 2019 she debuted with the hr-Sinfonieorchester, conducted by Christoph Eschenbach and in 2021 with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.

She plays a violin by Carlo Antonio Testore made in Milan in 1740, which is on loan to her by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.

In 2013 and 2017 Lara Boschkor was an active participant in Kronberg Academy’s Violin Masterclasses with Ana Chumachenco and 2015 with Donald Weilerstein, where she was awarded the Prince of Hesse Prize in 2015 and the Ana Chumachenco Prize in 2017. In 2017 and 2019 she participated in the Kronberg Academy Festival. From 2015 to 2023 she has studied at Kronberg Academy with Erik Schumann. Her studies were funded by the Yehudi Menuhin patronage. Since 2023 she is continuing her studies with Prof. Kolja Blacher at the “Hanns Eisler” College of Music in Berlin.
