Chamber Music Connects the World, junior

The US-American violinist Evan Johanson earned his Bachelor of Music degree at the Colburn Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Robert Lipsett. Since 2022, he has been studying at the Yale School of Music with Ani Kavafian. Additionally, he has attended masterclasses with Donald Weilerstein, Hilary Hahn, Stefan Jackiw, Arnaud Sussmann, Ayano Ninomiya, among others. His musical achievements have been recognized through various awards, including the Broadus Earle Quartet Prize from the Yale School of Music in 2023. In 2018, he received the Aspen Music Festival & School Fellowship.

As a soloist, Evan Johanson has had the opportunity to collaborate with orchestras such as the Colburn Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, and Seattle Youth Symphony. As a chamber musician, he has shared the stage with artists like Kim Kashkashian, Edward Arron, Melvin Chen, Marcy Rosen, Miriam Fried, and Jonathan Biss. Additionally, he is a regular participant at various chamber music festivals and workshops, including the Ravinia Steans Music Institute, the Perlman Music Program, the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, and the Four Seasons Spring Workshop.
