Chamber Music Connects the World, junior

The US-American cellist Macintyre Taback began his musical education at the Pre-College of the Juilliard School of Music with Caroline Stinson. He earned his Bachelor's degree at Yale University with Ole Akahoshi and at the Eastman School of Music with Steven Doane and Rosemary Elliott before completing his Master's degree at the New England Conservatory with Laurence Lesser. Currently, he continues his studies there with Laurence Lesser, Donald Weilerstein, and Vivan Weilerstein.

His academic achievements have been recognized with numerous awards and scholarships, including the Glenn and Francis Harris Cello Award and the Performance Certificate at the Eastman School of Music, as well as winning the Borromeo Guest Artist Award at the New England Conservatory.

Macintyre Taback has participated in prestigious music festivals, including the Yellow Barn Festival, IMS Prussia Cove, the Perlman Music Program, and the Aspen Music Festival. Through chamber music performances, he has collaborated with ensembles such as the Borromeo Quartet, the St. Lawrence Quartet, and the Emerson String Quartet. Additionally, he has served as Principal Cellist of the NEC Philharmonia and Eastman Philharmonia, gaining further orchestral experience with ensembles including the Yale Symphony Orchestra and Bowdoin Festival Orchestra.
