CHOR / TANZ / PERFORMANCE. AN DEN WASSERN…
By the waters of Babel we sat and wept ...” - This is how the famous Psalm 137 begins, which the evening An den Wassern ... Schütz / HipHop / Regenschirm takes as its starting point. In order to reflect on a fluid concept of home, musical and artistic worlds come together in the program. An oratorio choir, dancers from the Dany Dance Center - Home of HipHop (Neuhofen), dancers from Heidelberg and two theater makers from Frankfurt/Main will contrast styles, languages and forms. Renaissance and Baroque composers meet contemporary hip-hop, which seeks a language and a beat for the rage after the loss of a homeland, for a God who plays with people's trust, and for the sea that tells the stories of the past. And in the middle of it all: two umbrellas that want to be heard when they tell what they have observed on the water's edge.
The Junge Kantorei and its choirmaster Jonathan Hofmann will be performing at the Casals Forum for the first time. The traditional choir has attracted attention in recent years with numerous programs that integrate artistic forms of expression from theater, dance and the visual arts into classical musical performances.
